I was never a comic book fan as a kid, and didn't really know that much about them until my own child became a fan not long ago. But you don't have to be an expert to know that Stan Lee is the ultimate icon of superheroes and comic books. Last weekend, we had the honor of meeting him twice at Denver Comic Con, once for a photo and again for a book signing. It was pretty exciting. He was warm, funny and very appreciative of his fans. We didn't get to see this interview in person, but thank goodness for YouTube...check it out. I loved his reference to Mall Rats, which was filmed at the local mall in my home town! 93 years old and still working on more comic book heroes to entertain us all. See Stan Lee at Denver Comic Con here.
Pure Genius! A must have for every artist. Read about the Pencil+ here.
In this article, the photographer explores the definition of beauty through facial symmetry. If you have Photoshop skills, give this a try. Fascinating to see how different people look, when both sides of their face are completely symmetrical!
What should women wear after 30? This article tells it like it is.
I love a good kitchen gadget. Yes I said kitchen gadget. I don't usually shop for them in the hair aisle at Walgreens, but I think this one is definitely worth a try! Curious....Check out the video here!
If you've never been to a concert at Red Rocks, you are missing out! What an amazing place. Filled with history. There are so many names etched on the walls underneath the stage, it would take years to read them all. If those walls could talk...
Although I did not attend any of the shows in this article, I am lucky to have been witness to many incredible performances over the last 26 years I have called Colorado 'home'. There really is no place like Red Rocks. Even with rain pouring down from the sky, (James Taylor 2014) there still is no better place to be for live music. When I first saw U2's "Under a Blood Red Sky" video at Red Rocks in 1983, I couldn't wait to go there some day. Now I can see the beautiful towering red rocks in the distance, every time I leave my neighborhood. Lucky me.
#12 on this list is all too familiar to me, because I stood behind that bar pouring drinks at Pint's Pub for many years! I have always said that everyone should work at a restaurant once in their life. Waiters, Bartenders, Cooks & Chefs are the hardest working people around. Next time you're in Denver, stop in to Pints Pub for a pint or a whiskey. You'll be glad you did! Cheers!
I love color! Color is a great way to express yourself - in your home, in your clothing, and in your wedding invitations. If you want to convey a cheerful, fun-loving, happy wedding vibe to your guests, add some COLOR to your wedding invitations!
"Rabbit rabbit" is one variant of a superstition found in Great Britain and North America that states that a person should say or repeat the word "rabbit" or "rabbits", or "white rabbits", or some combination of these elements, out loud upon waking on the first day of the month, because doing so will ensure good luck for the duration of that month. No one really knows how this started, but most say it's related to the broader belief in the rabbit or hare being a “lucky” animal, as exhibited in the practice of carrying a rabbit’s foot for luck. Some have also believed it represents jumping into the future and moving ahead with life and happiness. If you missed your chance this morning...there's always next month! There's even a Facebook page to remind you!
