I know, I know...it's barely October and already the Christmas aisles are popping up at stores everywhere. But I look at it this way ... October is a great time to start buying your gifts, one at a time so you can cross a few things off your list and the credit card bill isn't out of control in January. I like to take notes throughout the year of gift ideas for my loved ones, then when the time comes, it's easy to buy presents for everyone and there's no last minute rush to find the perfect gift. I also LOVE to wrap presents and am always up for new creative wrapping ideas. If I can recycle wrapping or use items from around the house, even better! Check out THESE FUN GIFT WRAP IDEAS - and Happy (super-early) Holidays to you!
This new interactive art installation in London was designed specifically for dogs! The exhibit features an open car window simulator that blows air into dog’s faces; a play ball pit made to look like a giant dog food bowl; a magic water bowl fountain; and even paintings colored in a dog’s color spectrum. I give this idea two paws up!
I was never a comic book fan as a kid, and didn't really know that much about them until my own child became a fan not long ago. But you don't have to be an expert to know that Stan Lee is the ultimate icon of superheroes and comic books. Last weekend, we had the honor of meeting him twice at Denver Comic Con, once for a photo and again for a book signing. It was pretty exciting. He was warm, funny and very appreciative of his fans. We didn't get to see this interview in person, but thank goodness for YouTube...check it out. I loved his reference to Mall Rats, which was filmed at the local mall in my home town! 93 years old and still working on more comic book heroes to entertain us all. See Stan Lee at Denver Comic Con here.

If you've never been to a concert at Red Rocks, you are missing out! What an amazing place. Filled with history. There are so many names etched on the walls underneath the stage, it would take years to read them all. If those walls could talk...
Although I did not attend any of the shows in this article, I am lucky to have been witness to many incredible performances over the last 26 years I have called Colorado 'home'. There really is no place like Red Rocks. Even with rain pouring down from the sky, (James Taylor 2014) there still is no better place to be for live music. When I first saw U2's "Under a Blood Red Sky" video at Red Rocks in 1983, I couldn't wait to go there some day. Now I can see the beautiful towering red rocks in the distance, every time I leave my neighborhood. Lucky me.
"Rabbit rabbit" is one variant of a superstition found in Great Britain and North America that states that a person should say or repeat the word "rabbit" or "rabbits", or "white rabbits", or some combination of these elements, out loud upon waking on the first day of the month, because doing so will ensure good luck for the duration of that month. No one really knows how this started, but most say it's related to the broader belief in the rabbit or hare being a “lucky” animal, as exhibited in the practice of carrying a rabbit’s foot for luck. Some have also believed it represents jumping into the future and moving ahead with life and happiness. If you missed your chance this morning...there's always next month! There's even a Facebook page to remind you!
